Herbalife Nutrition Inspires Its India Associates to be Change Agents for Healthy Active Living in Their Local Communities

Bengaluru, 19th June 2017 :Herbalife, a global nutrition company, concluded its annual India Extravaganza, held from June 9 to 11, 2017 in Bengaluru. The three day event witnessed 17,000 Herbalife Nutrition associates gathering at a single venue, to be inspired to be change agents for healthy active living in their local communities.

 

Based on statistics from the Ministry of Health, Government of India, nearly 30 percent of India’s teenagers are obese – nearly twice the number in 2010. India has 70 million diabetics and is on track to reach 120 million cases, or nearly 10 percent of the population, in the next eight years (source: International Diabetes Federation). This underscores the growing importance of teaching positive nutrition and active living habits among people in the region, in order to empower them with sustainable ways to effectively manage their weight.

A highlight of the event was the keynote speech delivered by Rich Goudis, 
Chief Executive Officer – Herbalife Nutrition.  With the prevalence of global megatrends such as obesity, aging and rising health care costs, Goudis highlighted that Herbalife Nutrition has an opportunity to play a bigger role in addressing these concerns.

 

Dr. Luigi Gratton, Vice President of Nutrition Education and Development at Herbalife Nutrition and Chairman of the Herbalife Nutrition Advisory Board, helmed a workshop on the science and research behind the company’s nutrition philosophy. On stage, he also launched two new products – Active Fibre Complex (for digestive health) and Joint Support with Glucosamine (for joint health).
