Maruti Suzuki Indian National Autocross Championship concludes with grandeur 


Amanpreet Ahluwalia wins the Championship; takes home a brand new Maruti Suzuki Swift

New Delhi / Greater Noida, 6 March 2017: The Grand Finale of the first ever Maruti Suzuki Indian National Autocross Championship concluded yesterday at Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida. Amanpreet Ahluwalia won the coveted winner title at the Championship and took home a brand new Maruti Suzuki Swift as the winning prize. After receiving an overwhelming response from its city editions with more than 1000 enthusiasts participating, the Final Championship round witnessed the 24 champions from southern India competing with 24 champions from northern India. 
Speaking on the successful final edition of Autocross, Mr. Vinay Pant, Assistant Vice President (Marketing), Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “Maruti Suzuki has brought motorsports within the reach of aspiring motorsport enthusiasts over the years and this year with the Autocross we unlocked one such avenue for racing aspirants to experience this thrilling world of motorsports. Maruti Suzuki Indian National Autocross Championship has become the most anticipated event in the racing fraternity for making motorsports more than just a hobby for several amateur auto enthusiasts. As we believe in making motorsports accessible to everyone in India, we look forward to the development of active culture in India by creating platforms like Autocross. The Grand Finale round was divided under six categories giving participants the opportunity to showcase their driving skills, handling characteristics in any cars. The winners across different categories were awarded splendid prizes by Maruti Suzuki.

Autocross has served as a great platform for mushrooming motorsports enthusiasts to showcase their real talent while allowing them to drive cars with no or very little alterations. Maruti Suzuki Indian National Autocross championship was conducted under the approval of the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of India and under the watchful eyes of appointed Safety Stewards. The track was specially designed to limit the speed of the cars and in case of an untoward incident emergency services including a fully equipped Ambulance was available at all times.
